Tell Facebook to Allow Transgender People to Use their Gender-Appropriate Names

Transgender people are not allowed to use their chosen gender appropriate names on Facebook. Instead, they are forced per Facebook policy to use the names with which they were born instead of the names they wish to use as they transition into their chosen gender. Trans people face brutal bullying and humiliation in society as it is and the fact that social media is engaging in the same kind of anti-trans phobia and prejudice is ridiculous. It’s the 21st century, not the 19th century. Social media should allow transgender people to use whatever name they choose, period.
